Product & Ordering FAQ
How Does Financing Work?
We are one of the few companies out there who have the unique ability to offer financing to our clients through our own backend program.
If you wish to finance out a prebuilt or custom build shelter or barn, our program is a life saver and extremely simple and easy to qualify for. No third part lender or bank needed!
Once you have a shelter picked out, either fill out the quote form or email in saying you'd like to look at Financing your new Shelter or Barn.
We will provide you our financing application and run a soft inquiry for approval. Qualified applicants will be notified and we will sit with you via call to go over the options available. We can finance out in 6 month, 12 month, or 18 month terms via auto-payment depending on the order price and your needs.
All financing requires a minimum of 30%-40% down for the build upon approval. This varies by order size and qualifications. Interest rates range from 9% to 18% depending on financing amount, applicant standards, and term length. (Lower rates often come with shorter terms)
Once financing is approved and initial deposit made, your build will go in to our schedule for production. Your first payment will be due once your build is complete and delivery is scheduled. Payment date will be arranged at that time. Delivery is not included in the build cost or in financing and is due when your driver shows up on site.
Please email jm@bootleggerranch.com if you have any questions or would like to apply for financing for your new shelter or barn
Lead Times on New Orders
Our teams work diligently to build your livestock shelter as quickly as possible. We believe in the value of your investment and handcraft each quality-made, lasting shelter. This may result in longer lead times during peak seasons with high order volume. Additionally, our delivery is contracted with regional logistics teams and inclement weather/road conditions can delay transport.
Built-to-order shelters in our Ranch Collection take 4-12 weeks to delivery depending on model and complexity of order.
Shelter Materials
Lumber is kiln-dried untreated Douglas Fir. Models are built with 2″x8″ siding and 2 3/8" sch recycled Oil Pipe or 40 black pipe.
Units are delivered fully built & assembled and a single stall can weight around 2,000-7,000 pounds. Side is untreated for safety, but is ready for your preferred treatment, though we recommend sticking to an oil-based stain (or clear coat), or prime & paint with exterior grade paint! It is unlikely that the dimensional lumber we use will have a uniform appearance. You may see blemishes or waning both styles of lumber, but be assured this is normal and will not affect the structural integrity of your building.
Site Prep & Excavation
Bootlegger Ranch is not responsible for ground prep or site planning. We are not liable for any damages that occur to customer property during placement or after delivery. We cannot guarantee the quality of work done by others and do not assume responsibility for any issues that arise from site conditions.
Most of our builds are intended to be placed out in the pasture and don’t require a perfectly level site for placement. That being said, the more level site you pick, the better the shelters and barns will look after delivery
Failure to provide adequate site prep may result in the inability to install or uneven installation of ridge cap, gapping between multi-part buildings, door swing / sliding issues, damage to pad during install, and uneven settling of each side of the structure. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure adequate ground preparation occurs before driver arrival and shelter placement.
Shelter Care & Use
We recommend staining, painting, or using a clear coat to preserve your siding as soon as it’s on-site because the wood is raw. Oil-based stain is what most customers use and love!
While we strive to make our livestock buildings protective against the elements, they are not water/airtight. You may experience gapping in your wood siding as the shelter ages. If the wood siding shrinks simply unscrew & push the top board down (you may need to remove 2″x4″ or flatbar interior strapping). Occasionally enough room forms that another board can be added in to fill the gap! There are gaps at the top and bottom of your portable shelter for added ventilation.
A mid-sized or larger tractor, or a 3/4 ton or larger pickup can pull any size of portable livestock shelter. A chain is hooked to the bars on the tipped ends and the structure is simply pulled along the ground to a new place. Our portable farm buildings weigh between 2,300 – 7,000lbs depending on size and add ons.
